The Most Comfortable Maternity and Nursing Bra You Will Ever Wear!

Bravado BodySilk Seamless Nursing Bra

I'm trying to think back to the first time I met the Bravado Bodysilk Nursing Bra.  I'm going to estimate that it was the Summer of 2008 at the ILCA conference in Las Vegas at Red Rock.  I don't remember owning one while I was pregnant with my first but I remember owning one shortly after he was born.  William was 6 months old when he attended his first breastfeeding conference, and no, he did not gamble!

At the time I was initiating a breastfeeding support programme and had been given the go ahead to provide free nursing bras as an incentive for low income exclusively breastfeeding women.  The Bravado Original and BodySilk Seamless nursing bras are the ideal bras for such an initiative because they are fabulous nursing bras that are great throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding, comfortable and easy to fit.

I still own and wear my first ever BodySilk nursing bra.  If my dates are right it's now five years old and I still love it as much as the first time I put it on.  The fit has been perfect through five years of nursing and 38 weeks of pregnancy and nursing.  The support has remained, and the bra has held together amazingly (unlike the nursing bras I purchased during my first pregnancy which fell apart very quickly).  I've never been a fan of the padded bra for nursing but it is removable and padding is very popular for many reasons so a great asset.

So, there's my history with the Bravado Bodysilk seamless nursing bra.  Let me go into specifics to tempt you into trying it out for yourself.  Why should you spend £30 on a seamless nursing bra when you can find others on the market for less money?

Supportive - The nice wide band provides a great supportive base which is really comfortable, particularly when your ribcage expands during pregnancy.  The 3-wide row of back fasteners adds to this support and give a lovely sense of security.  Support has been weaved into the seamless fabric so that the breasts are supported in the appropriate places and the quality, two layered fabric provides great support even up to an F cup and above.

Flexible - The four back settings provide a great range for the expansion of your ribcage during pregnancy.  If you start out at the beginning of your pregnancy at the tightest setting you have room for baby to move up into your ribcage during pregnancy and then the ability to move back down the band settings after delivery.  The seamless fabric has the ability to grow with you so that as your breasts change and become heavier and larger in size with the breast tissue and milk changes you have no need to buy a new bra.  Between feeds the breasts may be greatly different in size which is accomodated by the fabric that grows and shrinks with you.

Functional -   The BodySilk seamless nursing bra is supportive, flexible and amazingly comfortable.  It moulds to the body creating a lovely silhouette with and without the padding.  The side sling is narrow enough to provide great access to the breast for feeding and skin to skin contact, yet is strong enough to withstand 5 years of wear and tear.  The nursing clip is easy to open with one hand and clips closed so that you know without looking it's done.  The moulded foam cups provide a smooth line under tight clothing and provide great coverage for a prominent nipple or bulky nursing pad.  However, the two-layered design provides good coverage even without the padding.

Value - Every week I speak to pregnant women and new Mums that have spent too much money on bras.  The reality is that you don't need to buy 3 new bras each time your breasts/ribcage changes in size.  You don't need to buy maternity bras that are non-wired but have no access for nursing.  You don't need to buy 3 bras each time you grow out of the previous 3 you purchased only a month ago.  You can truely wear one sized bra throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding.  So, yes I believe that the £30 price tag is worth every penny knowing that you don't have to worry about you after this and can focus on your baby.

Bravado have designed a number of essential colours for the BodySilk Seamless and they also bring out seasonal colours for those a little bit more adventurous.

The BodySilk seamless is currently available at Boobiemilk in Black.  If you'd like to order a different colour do pop me an email telling me which colour you would like and I will be happy to add it to my next delivery.  Check out the colours available to order on the BoobieMilk Facebook page.
